A Clean Slate: Revamped Website

The old site had become too heavy – too many plugins, too many dependencies, too many things quietly breaking in the background. Every time I updated something, another piece of the puzzle fell out of place. So I decided to strip it all back and start again.

This new version runs a lot leaner with Kadence as the main theme and minimal plugins. No more plugin soup. Everything now plays nicely with Markdown and dark mode.

That means a few things going forward:

Older posts may look odd or not display correctly. Some formatting simply won’t survive the migration.

New posts (like this one) will render properly and load quickly.

The menus aren’t all set up yet, they’ll appear as I build them. Expect some tweaks, but nothing too dramatic.

From here on out, this site will serve as my main base of operations.
CivitAI no longer serves the UK, and with the general uncertainty around creative hosting platforms, it makes more sense to keep everything under my own roof. If bans or algorithm shifts happen again, at least here I can keep people informed directly.

Under this new setup, I’ll be keeping track of my AI creations under the Stoke McToke persona – all the LoRAs, experiments, and ongoing projects – and posting my music releases under Mr Stoke. This site will tie both worlds together.

Comments will eventually return once I find a safe way to handle sign-ups. The last attempt turned into a festival of spam and hacking attempts, and that’s not how I want to spend my evenings.

I’ll also be adding a Contact menu soon, where all my social links will live. You’ll still find me on YouTube, Instagram, and other familiar places, but this is now home base – the single source of truth for updates, releases, and experiments.

So yes, this is a fresh start.
Fewer moving parts, cleaner code, faster loading, and more time spent making things worth your time.
